My childhood in New Jersey was full of music, books, stargazing, and buggy science “experiments” on the playground. As a high school senior, I wrote Dove Arising when I should have been doing my homework. I graduated from Columbia University with a degree in ecology, and I am now a Ph.D. student in biology at Harvard University. Please don’t ask me what I want to be when I grow up.
